From the beginning. |
Current Situation. |
As a small child I didn't ever want to play a musical instrument. Sure, I took some plastic drum sticks and beat the crap out of different CD cases until they broke, but I never really had the urge to play a real instrument. In March through April of 2010 my parents started talking to me about how I either had to start playing a sport again or begin learning an instrument. I had already played various sports and didn't really want to continue with any of them, so of course I chose to learn drums. I started to take drum lessons in April of 2010. After a while I got tired of practicing and started complaining about it. Now I could go for hours just playing music. In my eighth grade year in middle school I met my soon to be best friend. He played guitar very well. So we started to get together and teach each other our instruments. Around March of 2017 I began to learn guitar. I loved playing guitar. I could sit down for three hours straight just practicing guitar and not get tired of it. Then the best thing that has ever happened to me happened. I made it onto the drum line at my high school in July of 2017. I made the snare line. I never had as much fun as I was having participating on drum line during my freshman year.

Now it is my second season participating on the snare line and i'm still loving it. I have branched out from playing the same type of music all the time on drum set. I feel like my guitar skills have greatly improved. I enjoy music so much that I have decided to pursue music in college and as a career for the rest of my life. Music is what I love doing and I don't think I will ever get bored of it.
